Justin Redekop has trained exclusively at the Chinese Martial Arts Academy, beginning his Wushu journey approximately nine years ago and adding Kickboxing approximately seven years ago. He began competing around four years ago and continues to develop his skills as both a martial artist and instructor.
Justin’s teaching style focuses on encouragement and positive reinforcement. He believes students should know when they are doing something correctly while also receiving clear and supportive guidance on what they can improve.
A key part of Justin’s approach is helping students develop an understanding of how a technique should feel. He believes that once students can recognize the correct feeling of a movement, stance, or strike, they can more easily recreate it. As skills become more consistent, students naturally develop greater confidence.
Justin enjoys coming to the Academy to see students improve while continuing to work on his own development. He especially enjoys seeing a student successfully perform a technique that he has helped them learn.
For Justin, coaching is about growth and helping students become better martial artists while continuing to grow alongside them.
