Taolu Program
Challenging strength, speed, balance, power, agility, and rhythm, Fighting Forms or Taolu is the most visually appealing martial arts and sport today. It is based on traditional Kung Fu movements with a variety of acrobatic spins and turns and made popular by action movie stars Jet Li (Fearless), Donnie Yen (Ip Man), and Jackie Chan (Kung Fu Panda). The Chinese Martial Arts Academy has trained many athletes and has had great successes at national and international competitions. Students can learn a variety of routines ranging from barehanded forms, short weapons and long weapons, including Long Fist, Southern Fist, Broadsword, Straightsword, and Spear and Staff. Programs are designed for children, teens, and adults.
For ages 5 and up.
Using a variety of fight routines in our program, we aim to develop a strong foundation in Chinese Martial Arts in our students so they become comfortable and confident in learning an array of forms. This thereby improves their health and physical development, strength, speed, flexibility, power, balance, and rhythm. Dedicated to this approach, the Chinese Martial Arts Academy is the only school in Saskatchewan to have athletes compete for the Canadian National Wushu Team.
